  It is sad when a funeral home can be compared to a used car buying experience! We were overcharged and when questioned about the extra expense added, we were told it was state law for the fee. Asked for a copy of the RCW and none could be provided and then they said they thought for sure there was an RCW. We eventually got the overcharge of approx $1500 returned. They set up a meeting time to give me the refund but during the meeting told me that it was easier for them to send a check. Why waste my time with a meeting? We received a check in the wrong amount and after several phone calls received the remaining amount. After the funeral we got notices and phone calls from banks, health provider, social security etc, basically questioning why we were still receiving money for my father when he supposedly died several months prior to his actual death. The funeral director, Madison, informed social security with the wrong date of death! When asked about this, she acted like it was no big deal that she made a mistake. If you need to use this funeral home be sure to know what you are paying for. If they screwed us, I am positive that they do this on a regular basis!!!!

  They pretend to be helpful but the scope of the knowledge of their associates are not very good. I went through the process of making the arrangements for my mom. I was there for 7 hours and there were tons of mistakes and the associate could not even add the numbers right. They wanted to keep pushing expensive packages to me. Everything is extremely over priced and such a rip off. I was extremely disappointed. For what they charge they should at least train their associates how to write up the contract.

  They were very helpful in helping my family and I navigate the funeral process. While they are on the more expensive side, it was worth the convenience.

  The people at Sunset Hills Funeral Home were very kind to us when my brothers and I lost our parents within six months of each other. Their high level of professionalism and sensitivity at that very painful time was greatly appreciated by all of us.
